Achilles tangs, potters angels, and many Hawaiian fish have been out of stock for a couple weeks now. Anyone know if any advances or evolution of this situation?

I have a fat medium sized tank acclimated 1+ yrs achilles that is an agressive eater and is apparantly immune to ich as he has been exposed to it continuously and fought off a few spots here in there.

I am guessing he will be worth about $5,000 soon?

;)

Lol perhaps, so long as the continued gill damage doesn’t dust the poor guy as soon as he’s moved!

If your local store buys from Sun Pet in Georgia, they have most Hawaii fish in stock. Got a great 5" Hawaiian leopard rock skipper yesterday in the shipment. Its just the method they are caught I think at this point. No more barrier nets as I understand it.

That’s my understanding as well, just note fed Achilles have been scarce. Potters back on LA

Anyone know anything about what this article is about? Does this qualify as a "study" in regard to the court decision?

Live aquaria has small Hawaii yellow tangs, 1 to 2 inch. Anybody understand how? I thought they couldn’t catch small fish currently?

Glad to hear that the ban appears to have been lifted. A few Hawaii fish I have been looking at as of late.

Ban has not been lifted. That is older and why people are upset the study showed it is sustainable but they totally suspend all permits...

Currently the Environmental Assessment was completed and found most species to be collected within 1-2% of ea species.

The maximum to sustainability is 25% for any species so our industry is well under the detriment of over-collection.

Our DLNR has opened commentary to the public and needs your testimony to save this industry.
