Working on updates for ALL the tanks... and while looking things over... i see this!!
There is something INSIDE the stalk of my toadstool!

Do you ever see it move? It looks a bit like a worm of some kind. Hard to see as we only see a little of it.
 
Maybe try backlighting the coral with a really bright light so we can see the shadow of whatever is living inside it?
