What is my button scoly doing? (Video)

For the past half hour my button scoly has been squeezing out stuff into the water column. Happens every 2-3 minutes. At first it was a cloud that literally looked like white smoke. By the time I finally got the idea of taking a video it switched to this black looking stuff. Kinda crazy to watch.

Any idea what it’s doing?

Have you recently fed it then done something in tank? Sometimes when you overfeed corals they’ll “throw up” or even if you have inverts like hermits or cleaner shrimps they’ll irritate them for easy food. I had a cleaner shrimp nicknamed mike Tyson because no matter how much I fed the dude, he’d beat the ever living crap out of my rainbow acans mouths (eventually why he got rehomed).

Nope. Haven't fed the corals and no changes to the tank. Just happened to be sitting and watching the tank when I saw this start up. Every couple of minutes for at least the past half hour. At first it was a white cloud....looked like the scoly had taken a puff of a cigarette and was exhaling. Same white cloud again a couple of minutes later....then again at least two more times....then it switched to this black cloud, which repeated at least 3 times.

White cloud is more like spawning. Just saw it today with my euphyllia. Brown stringy stuff is pooping or expelling zooxanthellae.
