What is my clownfish doing

What is my male clownfish doing? He was in his pot and he twitched real fast and looked like he was fertilizing some eggs, but the thing is that there are no eggs. What could he be doing?

seizure like motions from a male is showing that he's submitting to the female. once they start cleaning the area regularly she should be swollen in the mid section.. then the eggs will come

Ok thanks for the info but why does he actually like he is fertilizing eggs when there isn't.
Also he is digging a lot in the sand

That answers my thread most likely. I was thinking it was that but I couldn't find any info online when I was searching mating and breeding behavior of ocellaris.

If theres no eggs they are probably just pre spawning
