I saw this little fragment of what looks like a euphyllia about the size of a pea. It was near my frogspawn and hammer on the sand. It’s floated about 6” away but is still bright fluorescent green at night.

Sometimes Euphyllia will drop some.
Not sure if it will survive but others say it could.

The only other thing it could be now that I’m looking under blue light, my candy cane appears to be releasing some of these. Part of them are still on the branch.

Nothing wrong with that.

What about fish population and flow?

40 gal tank , 2 clowns , royal gramma , cleaner wrasse, cleaner shrimp. I have about 60x flow, Four 565 gph power heads, and hob filter at 350 gph

2 Fluval marine LED light strips side by side

That's alot of flow in a 40 b for Lps corals if you're pushing over 2000 gph

To much flow can cause tissue to pull away from the skeleton on lps corals

The odd thing I don’t see the heavy flow. Two of the head are towards the top which is reserved for “sps row” and the other two are pointing down for opposite side to my lps, by tbe time they reach the bottom corners the flow just doesnt seem good. However the candy cane is probably getting a good amount of flow. My tank is a bow front and is 24” high.

I would move it a bit lower and protect it maybe from some flow.
Not to say that the flow may have caused it but better save than sorry.
Can you control the flow?

You’re talking about the candy cane? The heads on the candy cane have been fine, but recently these little Polyps spawned out of them on the side of the branch, and I think that’s whats In the sand bed. The flow didn’t hurt the existing heads. I thought canes head only split, so I was t sure what these spawns were. I can’t control the flow other than moving it up or down ow replace the head with a 425 gph, but like I said by the time the flow gets to the left side there’s not much flow left

So basictly you have direct steady flow from these 4 power heads?
You know that corals don’t like that even it’s a slow flow.
Random flow variatiing from say 50gph ramping up or wave/pulsing to the 525 is a lot better.

Well, with two heads on each side, the collision of flow in the middle creates a lots of randomness and turbulence, but also I think that is what lead to low flow in the bottom corners. This is a video of the tank from about 2-3 weeks ago to give you and idea of the flow.

Too much Direct flow (hitting the coral) will cause this. I have had it happen and the shoots that fall do not attach and/or grow
