Sorry that your tank started leaking!!

thanks, me too, it’s going to cost me money haha

Jokes aside, thankfully it is just a biocube I bought used years ago to replace a similar aio that I also bought used years prior and leaking. So it’s had a great run, and it’s been needing to happen and I’ve been planning it for a few years now, I just needed a reason to take action I guess.

Going on three years.

I am redoing the kitchen side of my tank. Used to have a 65 gallon tank as a counter. I have put the new drawer fixture in with countertop underlayment and loose fitted tiles, rough lumbered the sump next to that.

I have to cut the tile, wood trim it, seal off the sump area better. With this project I want to replace the kitchen side of the tank with drift wood or similar.

It would probably take a weekend...

That is impressive, you did that all by yourself!!!
I do everything myself. I don't think I ever hired anyone for anything including my house, cars or boat. Except dentists and if I could stand my screaming, I would do that. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

The very few times I had to hire someone because of a permit or something, I ended up taking apart whatever they did and re did it myself. :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I also installed my solar electric. Furnace and AC.

I have lots of fun making the plans, then stew over them a bit before getting started, I have a few non reef related projects delayed 4 months so far, which is not the longest. I do however keep updating the plans. Driving my wife nuts

I removed the top floor and roof of my last house to raise the dormer. It was about 40 years ago and it took me 2 years as I had to do it after work and on weekends. The house is stone. I also did all of it myself including installing the kitchen, bathroom, heat, plumbing, electricity and ac.
I dont even think 2 years is that bad for doing any major home construction by yourself. I bought a 2500 sq foot house that my dad and I completely gutted to where the exterior walls and roof were the only things left and rebuilt it by ourselves. Just working on my days off from my regular job it took around 6 years to finish.

Over a year turning a perfectly good 66 factory sunroof bug into a rat rod.. Mostly doing the interior and fabrication of the look. Rust free except for what I put on it.

I spent 5 years building the stand and canopy for my 42 gallon hex tank. I did have 2 jobs at the time and my table saw and router are in my garage that is not heated or cooled in central Texas. So there was not a lot of time 8 could get out there to work on it each year.
