Hi Guys- i first battled GHA the first few months of my tank. Got that eradicated. Few months after that byropsis starts. Recently finished the Flucanazole treatment. Got rid if that. Now look at this. CMOn already!! Whats this now? Im hoping Diatoms. Tank is about 7 -8 months old. Looks like when i vacuumed my sand bed or stir it up a bit it comes stronger. I put an mp10 now on bottom of tank to increase flow see what it does. Can anyone confirm?

What @cloak said. It's easy to deal with. Chemiclean red slime remover with take care of it quickly. If you do go with that just make sure to increase aeration and follow the directions.

Nice fungia btw.

Yeah man looks like cyano. My phosphate are at zero. Nitrates are usually around 10. I thiught my mp40 was pushing enough. I have maxing at 60%. I put an mp10 on other side so i dint have to ramp up the mp40 too much. Not sure if i should try the lights out method first before trying chemicals again. Got a bunch of expensive zoas and coral in there not sure whats worse lights out or the chemi clean?

I don't think that lights out will do much against cyno. It's a bacteria not an algae. People talk about cyno growing in areas of no flow and dead spots, but I have seen it in massive flow as well.

So, like ... _literally_lost_! Yikes! I had a mushroom go blowabout in my tank - put it in a quiet section of my sump until it reattached, and now it's about 4" across - and has babies.

Ive done a 3 day lights out for cyano. It will clear out most of it. Keep your skimmer going to help with the die off and afterwards try to cut down on nutrients and up the flow.

Should be fine. They tolerate a few days of darkness just light things back up a little gradually. And when I say lights out I mean blanket over the tank blackout.

And I know chemiclean does work I just try to avoid chemicals.

Just make sure you do the large water change after the 3 days is up with chemiclean, doing a lights out in conjunction with it and vacuuming out the sand will have you all cleared up. I also ramped up my lighting schedule from 3 hours after the lights out to normal over a week, cleaned it all up nice
