I am new to saltwater. What are the purple snow flake things? I dipped this coral when I got it. Any ideas and are they bad?

Some people dont like them because they eventually can cover everything. They aren't bad looking at all but multiply rapidly. I'd suggest keeping it on an island away from the other rock

If you disturb the water near it and it closes, it’s not not a blue clove.

Could be feather duster , sessile cucumber , or a Tube dwelling hydroid.

Are those bad or good? And has anyone else gotten blue clove polyp hitchhikers from WWC?
When did you get this from WWC? Most of their corals come on frag plugs and that looks like a chalice with alot of tissue loss. The clove polyps look to be on the skeleton of your receding chalice.

I got a mushroom from wwc for black Friday. The mushroom was on a frag plug that had the chalace skeleton on it with the mushroom on top of it. Was my first order with them. As I am new to saltwater I was not aware of the discrepancy. The zoa's I got from them came on frag plugs and one was on a skeleton of something as well.
