What on earth happened?

Okay so I bought this Coral as a blasto but the more time goes on the more it's starting to look almost like a bubble Coral. I've done tons of research and I'm still confused as to what it actually is. My wife and I just call it our kiwi Coral because it's color is a lot like the inside of a kiwi. The very base of it is hard Stony but everything above the base is soft and fleshy. What are your thoughts?

does it have a center with a mouth and the polyps around the edge? It looks like to Duncan in these side shots.
