Reef crystals gave my corals a shock every time i did a water change so i had to ditch them.

Man I feel like more people use TM Pro :(.. Thank you for all the response , I do appreciate it..

So far with me stating my case ( low funds ) I narrow it down to 3 choices;

Red Sea Coral pro
IO
RC

Any choices bet the 3?

honestly, if you have a retailer that will order you the 300g bags, the price of tropic is very comparable. it is the standard tropic, though. not the pro reef. personally i prefer the numbers of the regular tropic anyway. those are the numbers i run my system at. when i do a water change there is zero adjustment.

ok with so many mixing .. How do you guys mix it?..

i initially mix in a brute trash can, and then right away i pump it up to the top tank in my system that i use strictly for extra water volume and water changes. when i do this that tank is turned off from the system and then i let the fresh saltwater mix up there for 24 hours (2 korallias & a heater) before adding that tank back to the system.

I use regular tropic marin started my 240g up on a 300g bag. thosw bags are HEAVY!

Brute can , fill it to almost max capacity with both salts mixed in using a Seio 2600 for mixing for 48hrs before using it.

were can I get the 300g bags at? I usually order from F&S

to mix 2 salts i just alternately add a cup of each at a time. I mix 50 gallons at a time so i usually dump in about 10 cups to start(sunday morning) and slowly add the rest as the water heats(sunday night), this helps to keep precipitation to a minimum IME. i have a mag 24 i use for a mixing pump.

Go with d and d you will be very happy. The new batches of there mix does not produce residue like I'm sure you've heard from the past. I started using it two months ago and I see a tremendous difference.

any local retailer who sells tropic should be able to get it for you through their supplier. we stock the 300g bags for our customers because most of them have figured out that it is a much better value than the 200g buckets.
