I aim for 20C in summer, 22C in winter. My aquarium room maintains a steady minimum of 25C year around, allows me to run the tanks along inner walls, without heaters.

I look at it as paying for electric twice if I cool my house to around 70°F, but then have my tank heaters set to 78°F. I have about 900w total in heaters for all my tanks. I work for the electric company in my area, but I don't get any discounts. :grinning-squinting-face:

66-68 if possible...of course in Cali during the summer its almost impossible so I try to keep it around 72-74 (too hot for me, but my wife likes that temp....Happy wife, happy life).

I see some people keeping aquarium rooms at steady temp year round to avoid heaters or chillers. I think it’s better and less expensive strategy to heat or chill tank than whole room.

I run 70 degrees in the winter when we are home, 64 at night or during the day....wife turns on the space heater in the home office as well... that's probably 80.

Summer time it depends. If it is 80's and humid the main AC is set for mid to low 70s, sometimes just on dehumidifier mode. If we get temps at night in the 50s and low 60s, I pull that air inside.... I'll be grabbing for a blanket mid summer in Vermont.

I run my reef tank around 78 to 80.

depends on the number of tanks their respective volumes.
Agree with above, but most of HVAC system in US are single zone, just experienced it myself, building new house,I had to pay extra for dual zone and it would be even more for triple zone. Water also retains heat better then air (it has higher heat capacity).

Most of us here in Arizona are used to the higher heats. I grew up with 80-82 in the summer, but im not as cheap as my dad so I run it at 76 and I work from home and I get cold sometimes at that. I sleep at 72.

On the main level (where my tanks are), 72-73 in summer and upper 60s in the winter.

Just curious where everyone keeps their home temperature. I keep mine at 76°F year round, as it helps keep all my tank temps stable and saves on heater usage. What are your home temps in the summer and winter?
75 summer 68 winter
