what the heck is this?

I'll be on the Rockflower foot crowd as well. I've got a few of them and all have the speckled base just like that. They root it down deep in the rocks, usually only seen when closing to feed.
 
That’s interesting, it hasn’t had those spots before. I wonder why the base was more visible last night?

If they are planted down you won’t see them since they attach to the rock. I have 20 something of them and some have orange and others purple. Has it been moving?

My only nem that ever moves is my bubble tip. I have seen the flowers peel back a bit like when feeding, but have never noticed that pattern/coloration
