What to use in QT

Hello for all, I will received a couple of fish and I need to qt all of them, I need some help with the correct qt protocol.

- Copper Power 2.25 ppm 15 days + soak food GC
- Prazipro 7 Days
- Observation tank

I don’t have the QT tank cycled so I need to do Water change, could be 25%, 50% or 100% every 3 days?

Whit the blue spot I don’t know if first is meto+kannaex, then cooper and when finosh copper prazzipro?

That is a very large number of fish to quarantine all at the same time. Without a well-cycled quarantine tank, you may run into severe ammonia issues. Not all of those fish are going to be compatible either - the regal angel will be very small. Bluespot jawfish are very delicate, prefer cooler water, are prone to skin infections, and don't do at all well in bare quarantine tanks.

Don't soak the food in General Cure. That product is not meant to be dosed orally. It contains two different drugs that have two different oral doses, Besides, if you just soak the food in it, you have no idea what the dose is.

Your chloroquine and copper treatments are too short. I would go 21 days for chloroquine and 30 days for copper power.

If you do only 15 days you have to transfer them into a completely new tank/water after. Otherwise 30 days.

I have 5 tanks, my plan is divide all fish in to this tanks. I bought turbo fritz 900, matix and a couple air sponge filter for all of them, I think start using fritz turbo start since day 1 wait 3 days and start with cooper.

I have a couple of questions:

1- Fish like anthias are prone to uronema, should I dose metroplex with cooper or with prazipro or instead using pazzipro use general cure? In case that is not good what could I do to treat uronema??

2- In the list there are fish that are a little copper sensitive it is ok to star with 1ppm and in 24h get 2.25 or 2.50?

3- I read in a couple of forum that wrasse are sensitive to prazipro is that true?

4- What you recommend me to do with the blue spot? Directly to the dp??

5- Should I soak food with metro to teart internal parasite?

6- With the CP kill all nitrifying bacteria, do I add every 24h seachem prime to handle amonia?

Despite what you might read, intra cellular (internal) Uronema is not readily treatable. In theory, metronidazole in the food at a 1% basis should work, but in application, it just doesn't seem to do much.

2- In the list there are fish that are a little copper sensitive it is ok to star with 1ppm and in 24h get 2.25 or 2.50? None of those fish are super sensitive to amine-chelated copper. You can go to 1 ppm and then 12 to 24 hours later, raise it to 2.25 ppm

3- I read in a couple of forum that wrasse are sensitive to prazipro is that true? Potentially, but the real issue seems to be lack of dissolved oxygen caused by the glycol solvent in Prazipro. Praziquantel powder can be used on wrasses without any issue. Always aerate with an air stone when dosing Prazipro.

4- What you recommend me to do with the blue spot? Directly to the dp?? My advice is for people to not acquire this species, the mortality rate is just too high. Moving it directly to the DT would be best for the jawfish, but it puts the other fish in the DT at risk.

It can be mixed with a binder like gelatin or Focus at 1% by weight in the food. Any lower and it won't be effective and any higher and it makes the food too bitter and fish learn to avoid eating it.

Many thanks, what do you think about qt all the fish with Chloroquine Phosphate?? Of course only the fish that can tolerate this. It is not more easier?

IDK - I've had some apparent negative reactions of wrasse to chloroquine.

With wrasses, I’d dose at 12 mg/l for 20 days….but that’s just an opinion.

I can put all wrasse in a small tank with copper, if Indo that the cp dose still 12mg/l ?

The blue spot, watchman, the helfrinchi firefish, springer damsel and borbonius anthia tolerate cp?

I've never dosed a jawfish with chloroquine, but I've not heard of any contraindications. The other fish are fine with it.
