OK HERE WE GO, I AM NEW TO REEFING AND THE COMMUNITY. I AM BUILDING MY FIRST SET UP AND AM UNDECIDED ON LIGHTING(AFTER READING TRIDO'S POST I AM A LITTLE MORE COMFORTABLE) I AM DO A 90G AND KNOW I WANT A CLAM AND A COMBO OF CORAL W/ SOME SPS. RIGHT NOW I AM LOOKING AT GOING WITH 2 HYDRA 52 HD'S, BUT WITH ALL THE BAD PRESS ABOUT CORALS TURNING BROWN OR LOOSING COLOR AFTER 3 OR 4 MONTHS I'M NOT SURE. CAN ANYONE GIVE ME A RECOMMENDATION OR THOUGHTS ON THIS

LEDs are certainly a great choice, but a good bit off people are actually turning back to T5s. They're cheaper up front, are good enough for SPS but not too strong for LPS, and are great for taking pictures of your coral. If you still want very rich blue colour, you can combine them with reefbrite LEDs to supplement and make your corals pop :)

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
