Some are anchored to the glass and some crawl around.Looks like a digitate hydroid.
Does it move arond the glass or does one end stay anchored?
Do they resemble the one here? Some are anchored to the glass and some crawl around.
No they have defined leggs and it looks to be three "attenae" on their heads.Do they resemble the one here?
Digitate hydroids spreading. What to do?
I've got a Fluval edge 6g nano that's been up and running about 5 weeks now. No fish, just CUC and random hitchhikers. I noticed the first couple of d.hydroids a couple weeks ago isolated to one rock. They have since spread to most of the other rocks. Not infestation levels yet, but a good 6-7...www.reef2reef.com
So I just saw one swimming in the water. Do dorvilleidae swim?Looks like dorvilleidae, yeah. Little detritivorous worms that won't really get any bigger than that. Harmless. Those are bristles, not legs.
Well this one was all scrunched up and using its legs to paddle.yep, like little snakes.
definitely a species in the Dorvilleidae https://eol.org/pages/92/mediaI caught the little bugger and stuck him under a microscope.
Sure, use it until your hearts content.very nice photography can i steal the pic?
