What would kill a large hermit crab?

Sorry to hear this. We had an arrow crab for a bristle worm problem and he got big fast and ate our shrimp and a couple of small fish. Hauled his hungry butt right back to the lfs!!!

Post a pic of the "carcass" and we can probably better check for you if its really dead or just a molt

Pistol shrimps are also more than capable, and will if they find the hermits too intrusive.

Argh. I wish I'd thought of this, but I flushed it almost immediately. Thanks for the suggestion though!

For future reference things like this could be put in the garbage I would not flush them or your drains will start to get clogged with things that do not decompose
