A little while ago I had an interview. I won't say exactly what it was, but lets say it had something to do with law enforcement/corrections.

The application process was tough and they required that everything (tests, paperwork, references) be in in two weeks. During the interview, the major told me that I am high on his priority list and said "I don't want to just tell you that you have the job because I have 45 other applications to go through and it wouldn't be fair to just stop at you." He told me that I'd hear about the job, either yes or no, by the end of the week.

The first week passed, and I heard nothing. Monday of the next week, I sent an email to the HR department asking if I needed to take any further actions. I was told that decisions are still being made and thanks for being patient and someone would contact me soon.

It's been another two weeks and I haven't heard anything back.

I'm wondering if I should keep searching for jobs/filling out applications, or try and risk another attempt at communicating even though I was asked to be patient...I haven't had many jobs and I don't really know how long it should normally take for this situation to pan out... any thoughts?

I would have called a few days ago it shows that u really want the job

Man, I agree..but I'm afraid of being too pushy...this particular business doesn't seem to deal well with pushy people...I honestly just want a "yes" or "no" and either one would be acceptable at this point..I'm just tired of worrying about it :P You really think I should try to contact them?........
