Whats the last word on DE bulbs and protective glass?

I have searched and I have found answers to this question. :nerd: The problem is that answers are all over teh place. :neutral: Some say all you need is temepered glass others say you need "UV" coated tempered glass. I know teh glass should be tempered because of teh heat generated with MH DE bulbs. The question remains however. . . . . . what is needed?

The reason I ask, is that I have a piece of glass from a PFO t5 fixture that I would like to use for my DE 150 watt retro setups.

So anyone have any input?

It is just tempered glass.
I have shattered my lenses from water splashes, went to the glass shop and got clear, tempered glass cut for $8 to replace them. No problems.

I took a good lens/shield in with me so they could match it up and size it.

From what I have read reg. tempered glass will block UV, you should be good with reg tempered glass....

I'd do a google search to confirm this. UV rays will burn your corals...
