Any advice would be appreciated. Eric is just getting over some ich, and my glass is dirty. I can't decide between bruising/hemorrhaging or flukes or something else for the big red spot. It protrudes a bit on bother sides, and slime coat looks a little messed up. He seems happy otherwise. Thank you in advance!

While this bruising can be a result of injury, i am not ruling out the possibility of Uronema however its not oval or ciliated and may be bruising from injury. I suggest treatment in a separate tank using Seachem kanaplex with air stone for added aeration

Thank you for the reply! I remembered after I saw your reply that I have a microscope. In getting the skin scrape, some scales fell out (sorry Eric), but it looks like uronema from what other guides tell me

That Copperband looks kind of thin, especially where the discoloration is on Erics body.

Mine is one of the most voracious eaters among all of the fishes I feed. My "Eric" goes crazy for the mussels I collected and chopped (then froze for future feedings). They are available at the grocery store. Oysters, fresh, and other freshly frozen live foods, feeding at least twice each day has helped me keep my Aiptasia killer healthy once the glass anemones are all gone.

Feed this fish more, it will thank you.

Oh, definitely. Still working on getting him fattened up. He's still pretty timid, but he's getting more bold now that the bully is gone

I couldn't get a clear look at the protozoans in the video, but I cannot rule out Uronema. They are certain the causative agent if you saw that many from a simple skin scrape. The scales falling off is another sign of inter cellular Uronema.

Trouble is, despite what you'll read, the treatment success rate for inter cellular Uronema is effectively zero once it reaches the stage where you can see the lesion....sorry!

Here is an article I wrote on this topic (but understand that this also discusses external Uronema which is different from what your fish has, and is a little more easily treated).

As mentioned, not ruled out and once it shows up is hard to reverse
