It's been doing great for the past 5 months. All of a sudden, it lost some flesh.

I took it out and dipped in seachem reef dip.

This morning it has this happy face.

Ah a birdsnest I see. It looks like bleaching but it’s strange it’s just the one part. Not sure what’s causing that couldn’t talk ya but I would get a pie of bone cutters and chop to. Maybe glue it to a frag plug. Not sure really

It's a Stylo.

It's not bleaching. Flesh is gone. polyps gone in those areas.

I would cut that branch off. Make sure that some flesh is remaining on the good side.

I would love to know what's wrong with it BEFORE I get to cutting.
I've had issue in the past and the flesh simply grew back over the skeleton. I really would like to know what's going on before I cut it.

If it keeps spreading, you are not going to likely figure it out before you are into the main body of that frag. Don't wait too long. If it has stopped spreading, then that is different.

It's not close enough to that LPS to be getting stung, is it?

Nope.
It's apart from everything.
It kinda looks like it got bit but I don't have anything in the tank that eats coral.

It does look a little close to that folded brain there

Can the brain sting it from a distance of 4 or so inches?
