When Companies delete facebook posts

This thread needs to stay about FB or we will have to close it. I know who I am and the character and integrity I have when it comes to this place and I'm not going to allow it to be questioned. It's enough and I thank you for keeping the thread on topic from here on out.
Can I remind you this thread isn't about Facebook? This is about COMPANIES that delete postings that USE Facebook. Yes, I keep rewording what my intended post is, in hopes that folks will see it for what it is. Just keeping this thread on that track has been difficult. I reported people that had their own axe to grind with Facebook. As I would state repeatedly to look at this post above. Mods would say it's just someone voicing their opinion. NO they are derailing the OP with their anti Facebook who ha. People would just get wrapped around the name "Facebook" and not see past that. I keep trying to steer this back to what companies are doing and in general it's what they are doing on many social media platforms. But people just keep side tracking things here.. I give up

We are trying to steer this thread back in the right direction. Maybe the wording wasn’t perfect but that’s what we are trying to do and have been doing with the multiple reported posts we have received. That is just arguing semantics at this point.

If we question things, I think that’s human nature.

Isn’t this the point of the thread? Questioning why censorship is necessary... and what the underlying “real” reason is?

I personally do not trust the companies removing posts on Facebook.

I also am not decided on deleted posts on this site because I have certainly agreed with most of the decisions to remove/delete posts, but not some others.

Well after I clarify and answer a question then it's done. We're not into deleting posts or most of these would b gone already. :)

Yelp same way. If the company pays into Yelp they can have reviews deleted. It happened to me.

Not here! We've been threatened to remove posts and it's not going to happen. We have even told members who left bad feedback for companies, that request us to remove their own feedback, because they had worked out their issues with the vendor that we would NOT remove their feedback. Hope that made sense! HA!

Most places wouldn't even let you question them like we do! :p

I see you guys have quite a bit of tolerance. And it’s much appreciated:)

We honestly want to be as fair, truthful and honest as we can be to our members, visitors and vendors.

I for one appreciate that you leave it open the Red Sea 750 posts I imagine where a challenge to keep open at times.

They never once asked me to remove anything. Oh and companies have and do!

Well, the cats out of the bag regarding one of the companies I was referring to. Red Sea deletes more facebook posts than any company I have seen. A close second would be GHL. Both use the same exact excuse. That Support issues arn't to be posted on the facebook pages.

In GHLs case they had a customer who had a dosing line on their Maxi fail. It was on a weekend. So I and a couple people helped them find parts and get them up and running. Come Monday morning. POOF post was gone. Why? Becuase it was pointed out that others had the same problem, That the APEX DOS head was a solid replacement for parts like the tube. and that the Tube could also be found on Ebay. GHL rather charges $40 for a new head and $15 Shipping. A Dos head is $30 and likely a person can get free shipping. Also the DOS head can be found everyplace. The GHL head can't be found. So on and So on.

What was the purpose of this thread?

edit I am not clear on if there was a goal to be accomplished?

I honestly think the biggest problem with the social media in general is that one person may take what is typed one way while another person may take offense to it. It can be interpreted one way or another simply by the mood a person is in. Their can be way to many gray areas in a message on a computer. Is one person right or wrong based on the way they interpret a message, no, we just need to understand that this can happen. :)

Sorry, I also did not mean to derail this thread.

I see FB as toxic. Their whole system is toxic. I refuse to use it.
I agree. I question what the whole objective of the platform is really for. I think it's an over simplification of affairs when people just label it as getting peoples info to make money with it. I see the rabbit hole as going way deeper than that.

Germany controls the facebook page.

I don't have Facebook so I'm losing benefits as light composer downloads and some setting stuff. I was just curious.

When it comes down to it we gotta rely on us to share experiences so we all make good decisions. I never read reviews on any of the sites we shop at.

It's hard to convey thoughts into one or two lines, I find my self spending more time composing a response so not to
offend and create a blizzard. Snowflakes!

Hey! I have a maxi that is slipping, bought on ebay ;Sorry I dont see the parts, DOS parts work? We should be in that thread;)

To me, if a company only does work on Facebook, and doesn't create their OWN website, this raises red flags.
I understand profit margins are tight and money needs to be saved every place they can, but, doing these practices (deleting posts) harms the bottom line more than just paying for, and maintaining your OWN website that has REAL customer support.

What company doesn't like free advertising?
What company doesn't like a free platform to post pics/promote knowing data is money?

What these companies miss is not everyone uses/likes Facebook, and deleting posts on said platform doesn't go unnoticed. That costs more, I would think, than to just make a site, maintain it, and use that for any product issues, because only the company would see it. Seems like a case of Vera shooting off her own pinky-toe.

Agree? Disagree?

I wont waste my time with companies who use only FB, tells me they are not a serious business plus its a pain to use FB to buy things, message and then wait, back and forth, with a website can click and buy. Not exactly difficult these days to build a basic but usable website to sell stuff these days or really that expensive, if a business is so stretched they cannot have a basic useful website, probably not one I want to buy from anyhow.

ive had a couple run ins with a company i used to buy from, but customer service went down hill. People went to the support group to try to get movements on orders, and an actual answer after trying phone and email to no eval. Really cant blame them, but the owner threatened to close the group down basically over it. I work in customer service at the root of it all, and to me that is horrendous customer service....
