When I first for this piece as a freebie from ASD it had a small skeleton it was retracted into. It is now starting to grow more quickly now that I have moved it into high flow. It seems to be growing more like a mat like GSP would

Galaxia is hard skeleton. Very hard. I think they meant gap is soft which your pic looks more gap to me but maybe mistaken. I had Galaxia grow like crazy and had to us chisel to remove

They do look similar and came as an unlabeled freebie. Thought it was galaxia with the green and purple with white tips

Easiest way to tell is feel it. When closed. Galaxia very hard and feels sharp. GSP the exact opposite. lol

Hey man good call. I can see the tentacles waving in the strong flow but the mat has no movement at all
Becare not to place Galaxia too close to other corals, their tenticles can sting other corals bad...
Definitely. It's on its own rock. I didn't plan on getting one but ended up with it in an order. I do like it though so I'll just be sure to keep it on its own

The mat of a GSP will not move either in flowchart. It will feel like a stiff rubber. Did you feel it? You got my curiosity on which it is. Looked at your pic again and looks more GSP. If you feel like it would cut you then Galaxia. Also as mentioned Galaxia at night has these cool VERY long sweeper tentacles that come out so need room

I'll have to try next time I have something to do in the tank. Trying my best to keep my arm out of it

My galaxea is built on a bone structure rather than a mat. A buddy who I got it from brooke off the pieces and I glued them to a chunk of rock
