When should I get clownfish?

I know I’ve seen many people start their tanks after being cycled with clownfish then they begin to add coral but I started with coral. Does that affect when I could add my clownfish? Was hoping to add a clownfish at some point but I don’t know when I should, I started my tank around December 17 so it’s only been nearly 2 months

It won't affect you adding fish. Just do it slow. If you are thinking a mated pair of O. Clowns (or variants) that is fine too. Wait 2 weeks minimum before adding more. How much rock do you have in there? And how big is your DT?

Yea I was thinking in 2 weeks, I have a decent amount but I don’t want really want to add moreee, and I have a 20 gallon long tank, I posted a picture of the rock does it not show? I’ll add another just incase lol

It shows. Just getting a guage as to how much rock you have compared to the size of the tank as a measure of appropriate biofiltration. LOL, the last time I had a tank, the goal was about 2lbs per gallon. Which is a lot. I still can't believe that 0.75 to 1lb per gallon is the new normal.

a pair of clowns in this tank is fine, and I personally wouldn't worry about adding them now.

If you plan to add more fish, IMO, you need more rock. Swim lanes and hiding places are key.... Though just a pair of clowns there's pretty much no worries there.

When you decide to get your Clowns, try and get captive bred ones. A good LFS will be able to tell you if they are. You'll pay more for them but trust me when I say it's worth it! Also ask how long the fish you are looking at have been in the stores care. Try and avoid fish that "just came in". Good luck!

Yep yep. I saw a post some time ago that I agree with whole heartedly. Provide as many caves as you have fish. When I aquascape, that'll be my primary concern. Your Scape looks great, but I see more swim throughs than I do dead ends.

I have a mated pair of Tomato clownfish that could dominate the OP’s tank perfectly.
They are trained not to bite when I am doing in tank handiwork.

I added a pair the day after I filled my tank and all was well for months until disease broke out.
But that’s another story.
