Where do LFS get their fish from?

I am really curious if anybody has insight on how the LFS typically buy their stock wholesale. That being said, what happens when they have a whole tank die off from, for instance, velvet? Just curious ;Bookworm

From wholesalers domestic and abroad. If they have loss during shipping or at the store it's just a loss they have to take in most cases

In transit, the wholesaler normally takes the loss. In store, the LFS, normally. They can have a few days depending on the vendor, if they die in store.

They arrive normally in plastic bags, so when you say a whole tank die off I am assuming that is in reference to the fish arriving fine but die in the LFS at a later date.
