I have mine in the living room but thought about making a room just for my tanks.

List pros and cons of why you decided to put it there

Mine so I could see it 90% of the time when Im home. Bad things I hate all the noise it makes Its not real loud but the water draining and fans cause me to turn up the TV

Opps Mods please change title to your house. Thanks

My reef is in my living room, while my FOWLR is a peninsula style in the guest bedroom, creating a bit of a hallway effect from the door into the room.

I had no option regarding sump placement. Everything, and I mean everything, is under that stand! With cabinet doors closed, the hum isn't too bad.

My tanks are in the living room, but my sump is in the basement. :)

I love listening to the sound of my tank. Silence drives me nuts. lol

My tank is in my living room and my sump is in my basement. I find that my protein skimmer is the biggest noise maker of the system.

cheers,
Darren

Mine is in the family room, downstairs away from the kitchen. If I spend enough time with the tank, I can lose some weight :)

mines in the family room. when i'm in the living room watching tv I can look through the kitchen and see my tank on the back wall. my corals are all neon so I can see them from there. if I cant see the corals from there I do not buy them.

I have mine in the wall.
Pros: when you walk in my house you have to go by it.
Cons: It sucks working from the back all the time.

in-wall in my finished basement, though i'm kicking myself for not putting it in the family room on the main floor. we very rarely use the basement. i spend way more time in my fish room than i do on the display side. :(

good excuse to tie another tank into the system on the main level, though! :D
