Well long story my friend.
Still got the DT running but only with LPS for now till it's ready for it's new home.
I have one frag tank empty and just sold off the 60" sunpower 8 bulb include 3 month old Giesemann bulbs for $75............ it lasted only 29 seconds before I had a text.

Long story short, wife has a tentative offer for a new job. One of the perks is she can choose between Houston, Austin or Dallas (actually Plano) Texas. I really don't know much about any of these three cities.

So... Which one would you choose and why? We are looking to buy a house, settle down, and stay for the long-term. Everyone keeps telling me Austin is the "hip" place to be, but a) I'm not hip :p b) I hear home prices are pretty high in Austin. :(

Ask for San Antonio. Dallas is a "big"city. Austin has way to many p
Houston is wet and huge. SA still has small town feel and is growing at a more manageable rate. New business moving here all the time.If your an outdoorsman you will love south texas. Cost of living also lower. Housing much cheaper.

I grew up in East Tx but eventually made my way to Plano and loved it. I have a sister in Houston and for some reason that city has never done it for me personally. Of course can't go wrong with Austin and Freebird World Burritos.

I live in the northern suburbs of Houston. My daughter is in school at UT in Austin, so we go there frequently. I've had family live in Dallas area and have spent tons of time in that metro area as well. I truly like aspects of all three (and have dislikes for all 3.) However, if I could pick any one of the three to live in it would probably be Austin.

Tech jobs in Dallas are drying up. Many people moving to Austin.
Austin has not kept up with the influx. Plano is booming but not as much as Austin. Cost of living is probably better in Plano. Quality of life is better in Austin.

I moved 20 years ago to Tx from a cross that big blue ugly wet Ocean an Houston been always good to me, it been so good that it made Diesel great again, really great again I'm telling you that. :rolleyes:

I like dallas. I have a sister in plano and I love it there. I am going to move there in a couple years. Frisco is not to far from there.

Do you know the office locations? Will she be able to work from home some days? My sister lives in flower mound, which is kind of in the middle of of the DFW area. It's a pretty nice area with lots of land. Actually a lot of homes in TX have land! It was an easy ride from the airport. Dallas traffic stinks though if she would have to commute to the city. Houston traffic stinks the worst from what I hear. Austin is awesome place from all I hear. Pretty much what everybody is saying on this thread. Also, the roads ice up in Dallas. I'm ready to move out of FL so I'm always listening and looking at places LOL.

I just re-read and you said Plano. Looks like a great area also. Seriously, a lot to do in TX.

If you are an sps hound, dfw is where to be. You can almost always find a particular acro you are looking for, and from my experience, most everyone is down to trade
