If the BTA is tank raised I would say it's very simular to torch care. Only, a torch lets you know real quick the water chemisty is off. BTA may spit out some guts. So. A torch can teach you how to care for bta. I am not kidding here. Torches have a lot of ways to tell you the water chemistry is off. But you have to understand what to look for. So, keep your test kits ready.

Once a week for a month. Keep a log to see what changes. If no big swings, test twice a month. Your log is to help you make sure parameters are stable.
