So I am at a loss for lighting on my nuvo 20g tank. I plan on keeping a mixed reef with sps at the top and lps/softies at the bottom. However I am wondering if I want to do 1 ai prime or 2 air primes or even just one ai hydra hd. Theres a guy in my area selling primes for 120 each and the hydra hd for 220 which would work best for a I'm nuvo 20

It really depends on what you think you will be doing in the future! Regardless I would recommend two points of light be it two AI primes or the AI hydra 32. I personally started with a lower powered light thinking I wouldn’t want to get into high light demand acros and alas here I am with an acro dominant tank running a Radion XR30. Really consider and try to buy something that is future proof so you aren’t stuck having to buy two lights if you can swing it.

Which would be better in the long run? The 2 prime or 1 hydra. Being a 20g either will produce all the light I need. I'm worried about coverage/shading

I am not super familiar with the new variations on the prime HD or the 32 so take this with a grain of salt but if you are concerned about shading, two distinct source point would be better. So I would say two primes
