Hi all,

I noticed I have a tiny (1/2") all white and pale crab in my tank.
Because of his color and size, I couldn't get a clear picture.
I have no idea where did he come from (larvae stuck in my last purchase?).
He doesn't seem to bother other CUC (he is smaller) neither my corals.
He looks like a mithrax (green emerald crab) but he is all white and far from macroalgae that may have been his food source.

He likes to roam on the sand bed.

What is the best practice when you find such hitchhiker ? Should I drop him ? Or leave him living the good life ?

Thanks

My usual recommendation is figure out if it's a reef-safe or not; if it is, keep it; if it's not, keep it in the sump/setup a small tank for it or try to give it to someone who wants it.

In this case, does the crab look like Cymo andreossyi? If not, can you pull it out of the tank in a container of tank water for some decent pics?

I will try to catch him for a pic out if water.
Regarding the cymo, thanks for that idea I didn't know such crab exist (I am new) but mine isn't a cymo cause its shell is fully soft whole the cymo shell looks rough.

DO YOU THINK TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENTS ARE MORE HELPFUL OR HURTFUL TO REEFING?
