White spots on maxima

Best indicator for clam health and growth is new shell growth. If there's new growth, then the clam is receiving enough light, but if there's barely any new shell growth or none, the clam needs more light. This is the case with all tridacnas that we keep. You can keep maximas anywhere in your tank, as long as there's a solid surface for them to attach to and there's enough light.
