Yes you can and it does not take much wind to make it happen. For every time wind speed doubles and force on the boat is around 8 times stronger. 10 knot wind is nice, 20 knots things are getting fun, 30 knots it is really really exciting. Plus if you are sailing into wind, you have most of the speed of the wind plus your boat speed to deal with so a 20 knot wind could really feel like 30 knots across the boat. If you don't reduce the sail area, you lean way over, go slower because the force on the sails makes them want to turn the boat dead in to the wind so you have to counter it more opposite rudder which slows you down, so less sail can make actually make you go faster.
