I think this mushroom is amongst one of the prettiest pieces in my reef. I don't really understand why they aren't given much respect in the reefing comunity.

'Shrooms are really Cool. And I've been searching High and Low for your Specimen. They're easy to grow and multiply easily. But to find the Rare ones .... now that's another Story!!
Nice Mushroom dude!!

If you ever get to the Detroit area, I'll hook ya up. I have a few extra polyps of this one that are about the size of a quarter. I don't think it would be worth the shipping for a shroom though.

Thanks Nikon Guy,

Unfortunately I'm from Toronto, Canada but then if I do ever happen to be there I may take up that offer...that is if it's still around!! ;)

It's very tempting though....hhmmmmm!

Sweet looking shroom. I agree about the bad rap for mushrooms. I have one that is a bright blue/purple with darker stripes running along it.

I've seen the "superman" mushroom (or maybe rhodactis) that is amazing.

I love the colors of shrooms, but not the way they grow over everything and get out of control sometimes. As long as you keep them isolated you are good.

The regular ones are a pest IMO, sort of like gsp or xenia, grow to fast for me.

I read some where that these kinds of mushrooms grow very slow in comparison to the actinodiscus species i think you are talking about. I could be wrong though.

I like ricordia, but not a big fan of other mushrooms. The regular ones are a pest IMO, sort of like gsp or xenia, grow to fast for me.

Some hairy shrooms can get super huge too and actually kill/eat fish.

I'm with you. I love rics and yumas, but regular mushrooms grow so fast, multiply, and fight with nearby corals too much for my liking.

Nice pic though, thats a sweet looking shroom.
