Who wears long gloves?

I double up.
Nitrile for thicker material on my hands with having good tactile, and the thin shoulder ones to keep the arms dry.
Shoulder ones leak but by the time I'm done I'm not soaked.

I use shoulder length disposable vet gloves. I’ve had the same experience as BeanAnimal, but these ones seem to be better.

I always wear gloves after getting a nasty infection (my fault - open wound).

These are my go-to gloves.

Another vote for these gloves! They give decent dexterity with the fingers for doing detailed tasks in the tank..much better than other arm length gloves that I have.

I didn't wear gloves...until I got a mean ocellaris clownfish that tries to eat my hand every time I stick it in the tank!

I’m another one that got a bad infection on my finger. I still don’t wear gloves. Those types of gloves are just too big for most women’s hands. I just can’t feel anything.

I wear elbow length surgical nitrile gloves. I only wear long gloves because I work with printing inks and solvents all day, every day. Keep all that out of my tank.

Who wears long gloves when working in their tank?

The idea Seems like a good idea to not have to put your bare skin in the display if you don’t need to but curious what gloves work best. Nitrile are probably not an option for me as my hands sweat profusely when I wear them and they are a bit thin, but the pvc ones that are shoulder length look like they might be too bulky to be able to handle small frags or do delicate work.

So curious what you all are wearing to work in your tanks.

I’m picking up some 26 inch gloves here soon. I want the security of knowing I won’t be stung by anything, plus I’ve been watching videos on poly toxins… you never know when you could have an open wound… interesting stuff

I get very dry skin that cracks from saltwater. I’m a Great Lakes man, with my soft supple freshwater skin.

Mine are like long dish gloves. I found the Atlas and the Coralife a bit to limiting dexterity wise, and vet gloves seemed to leak.

I believe gloves are a good idea but have never worn them in the 25 years that I've had a reef. My tank is a 56g column and everything is pretty close and tight in it and so I need to be as nimble as possible when working in the tank. I am careful to take care of my hands before putting them in the tank and while in the tank.

Another vote for the yellow Atlas gloves. Sure they get punctured by vermatids and have to be replaced once a year but they keep my skimmer running consistently from not having my hands in the water.
