I always see people on here sell on RC and not here. Is there a reason behind this. Is it because there is more traffic on RC.:hammer:

Seems people on my local board go over there if they want to make money off a frag. Maybe they feel selling it for the same price in a close community is like ripping them off?

Well i dont post stuff here because i dont want people just thinking i come here to sell.

I wish you guys would sell here as well. I don't look overthere that much. and late a lot of times because of it. Oh well. I supose thats why i just ask when i'm wanting something

Please post zoas for sale here! We are all zoa enthusiasts and I would love to get into more of the action!

When I start selling I will probably try local first then here...

I feel we should sell more on here since we dont record or for that matter care how many corals you sell *coughRC!cough* :D

Share the wealth on the best site!

Steve :)

I decided that since i am a mod here I wouldn't post stuff for sale here.
Not that i thought it would be wrong, just decided i would avoid that possible area of discontent.

I usually post here, there and some times on Reef Monkey when I am selling something. Just about 90% of the time I put it up here first to give everyone here first crack at it.

I don't sell here that much unless Pm'ed cause I like trading over here and I trust the community here more then having to sift through all the bull over there. Doing trades over there you are more apt to run into unscrupulous people cause of the amount of people and there seems to be alot of people that are trying toget one over each other. That's just me take on it.....

I didn't realize that most of you sell on RC. I don't go to RC. I did at one point but a lot of the people were very mean and rude so I decided that was not a place that I wanted to be.

This is sooooooo much a better place than there.

I like to sell a few corals here and there, I have just started hitting this board w/ a few items to fund my new tank project.

The one thing that I started doing that I have NEVER done before is trade. This board has made me trust again(well, not all the time).

I like to put Zoa's and Paly's here because I know you are all junkies. I may put up a few micro's to see how they go here.

BTW my new tank project is real, its not just a line.

There will be two tanks. The big tank divides my fish room from the game room and sits in between the tiled walls right here, about 95"x36"x24".

My frag tank 5'x3'x16" will sit on this partially completed stand in the foreground.

Lots to do still, I planned on getting a build thread going here soon.

WOW that seems like a lot of volume. Make sure you vent it well to prevent any humidity damage. Good luck and keep us updated on the project.

Honestly, I dont know how a few of you sell so much over there and aren't considered commercial? When I was first getting into selling corals, I was putting stuff up on RC maybe once every other month and I was considered commercial and banned for more than a year. :(

I would hope if someone started selling stuff here every month routinely, they would pony up a sponsorship fee to coralnutz.

that is what happened to me but i was buying and upgrading equipment

i know that the local mods know me well and keep a close eye on local people

LOL, Zepplin! It's hard to define for everyone I think.

For me personally, I would say that using the tax laws would help a bit with defining- you have to report I think over $600 a annually as substantial secondary income, don't you? Or maybe, if you have the ability to order from a wholesaler.

I like to sell things here first, then on RC if no one wants it here. But I really don't ever do it much, so I don't think they are about me, unless they are on the usual power trip/insult jag.

Completely agree with this as well... Plus alot of the ugly chopshoppers frequent RC trying to take advantage of folks- remember what Copps had done to him by that one guy??? Bought a bunch of frags from Copps at hobbyist prices and then turned around and ebayed them for like exponentially more than Copps gave them to him for because he told him he was a kid... Sick.

Well said Larry, there are folks I adore here, but who sell enough on RC that they should put up a banner here!

/begin broad brush/ - Used to be hobbyist to hobbyist sales were the cheap way to go to gather some nice items...and make a friend. Now you can get nicer stuff more afforably by going to retail outlets rather than hobbyists. /end broad brush/ :D

I'm getting very close to going back to hobbyist status only. I believe I'd have more bills paid each month :-&

And Larry, the trick on RC is to have a thread started about you downsizing tanks, possibly leaving the hobby, etc. Start one of those each month, with a photo gallery of your new tiny tank, and you can sell all you want there :p

Peace!
