Hello all! Super excited! Just purchased my first Heteractis Magnifica! I didn't realize how huge the nem is in my 22.4 Fiji Cube!

Ph, temp, and salinity matched. Dropped in. Day 1 within first 10-20 post acclimation. LFS said their lights were at 40%. Mine is David Saxby modified to increase white to 48%.

Red foot, purple tentacles with yelloe/lime green tips.

Cipro order EDD is tomorrow EOD. Fingers crossed I don't need it.

My tank is complete with 2 clowns, diamond goby, OSFF, and the Magnifica.

Now, my Snow Storms just need to do their part - GET IN IT!

Current flow and light. Debating I should increase to 100% white acclimated over 30 days. Thoughts from successful owners?

Very nice. He will regain color quickly once he acclimated.
don’t feed him and he will remain small and healthy. Best of luck with him.
I like very bright balance white light. Around 10,000K. The brighter the better but need to keep temperature stable.

Yes, I believe I've read some of your posts regarding your Mag (I may be wrong). Can you take a look at my lighting posted above? I believe cool whites should be 100% with some blue to your liking to create a 10K spectrum?

Sure enough my clowns are smart enough to know how to remove the AF Bio Sand with their tails to get to the bottom glass so they can stare at themselves; yet, can't quite figure out their best friend is in front of them. Fingers crossed they're in tomorrow morning.

The color of the light seem OK enough. How bright does matter a lot. We cannot tell that from the picture.
How did you hold the anemone so high near the surface without any apparent way to keep it floating near the top of the water surface.?

The "L" rock structure is epoxy'd to an L bracket (plastic) where it hangs off the back wall. I wanted a minimalist design with no contact between the sand and the live rock with the goal of a mag sitting on top as it waves back and forth. The rock structure is removable.

Caught the pair last night, put it in with the nem in the container, encouraged contact with the nem, and there was SUCCESS! BUT, only at the cost of my Diamond Watchman Goby :(

Lid was removed for the process. Said to myself "It's just less than 12 hours. He won't jump. I know he won't." Of course he would.

I've reported the goby missing and have signs posted all around the house offering the kids a $20 reward to information that can lead to Obie.

I've checked the back chambers, back section behind the tank, every single fiber on the carpet and no where to be found. I suspect abduction by aliens

If dead in back chambers, will it cause an ammonia spike?

Just a little update. The Mag now looks a bit smaller for sure. Photo, taken with the kitchen light on, is at 4:50 a.m. with lunar cycle on - waxing crescent (barely any moon light). Mouth looks a little opened and the nem seems to have taken quite a bit of water to where it looks like it is swelling. Not sure but I think it looks fine. Time will tell when the lights come on in a few hours. Thinking I may up the whites today.

Today I decided to dose 1 ml of All For Reef. No other changes. I've heard iodide is needed. Prior to the dose, I noticed "some" tentacles flattening. Now, it's balled up. I've read that it's good news.

Not looking so good. No changes were made other than 1 ml of All For Reef to see if there were any reactions (Iodide). Now I am debating whether to start cipro tomorrow...

No experience with magnifica, but Looking at the amount of coral you have, I doubt you need the all for reef right now. It's just one more thing to stress the nem out

Makes sense. I heard Iodide was essential, which I have none on hand, and wanted to see if there was any response. 1st night after dosing it balled up. I think I will speed things up and cipro tonight if it doesn't show signs of improvement. Other notable changes were: removing carbon (placed back in now), increase flow by 10%, increase UV and Violet to 12% from 0.
