I walk into the lfs, I want to buy everything in the coral tank. It's not much. Springfield is a small city and everyone here is a cheapo. I hate ordering online because of shipping prices. Only thing that stops me.
I understand. Maybe you can get with a local friend and split shipping costs? I just did that recently and got some really nice Acro right here on R2R. And as far as LFS go. I'm blessed with some of the best, My shops are WWC, TopShelf Aquatics and Living Reef among others lesser known. Going into Orlando is not good for the wallet. LOL

I'm an introvert. Using r2r to battle my people syndrome. I make friends like tornado's make houses. I'm trying though!
Yup, glad I don't live in florida. However the upside is, there's people there who will buy frags from you. I don't know, or encountered a reefer in any of my lfs. We only have 2.

Okay…
So I’m here with my daughter doing my plumbing.
Couple of questions…
Do I use primer on bulkheads?
Do I use PVC cement on bulkheads going into the sump?

I’m to myself as well
My kids are my friends
I have a few acquaintances but for the most part I do most of my hobby talk here

I didn't, you may need to remove them if you move tank.
Sorry for the late reply. I was gone.

GL,, the bulkheads are probably an inch and a half. you could mess around with those and add on some joints probably, in place of the slip on.

Okay so plumbing beneath tank is just about finished
Still thinking if I should alter the SC plumbing in the overflow or just go with it as is?

I don't know if you put all the pipes in, that short tube. Seems really short to me. I would rather have one half the size of the emergency drain.

Good, I don't like how the system is from china. I had to wash it all down and scrub the piping and hoses. Which was a flexi brush and vinegar. Lots of cleaning. Fiberglass fibers all over the inside of the tank. I love the pipe work you have.

Thanks, just glued the pipes in the overflow to the bulkheads. Gonna check for leaks in a few.
I noticed the same thing. The pipes look recycled and dirty. I washed as best I could

GL, after my experience, fill the overflow first. See what happens. If all is well, time to check for tank leaks. Also, keep an eye if water goes into the overflow chamber from the tank. It shouldn't until the water reaches the top teeth.

Yep doing it as we speak.
Water does trickle into the overflow sometimes around the seams
Ideally that wouldn’t happen but as long as the bulkheads are sealed properly it shouldn’t be a problem.

What exactly was it that happened with yours?
I know you got a replacement
No, I never needed a replacement. I only upgraded. If the inside wasn't sealed well, I was just going to redo it somehow.
The problem was, it just took them near a month to get mine shipped.
So, long story short. I had a 60g to start, bought a 90g bowfront on craigslist. 3 weeks later the dang thing sprung a leak. Husband bought me the 112 sca pnp. The return pump they gave me was horrible. it broke and needed replaced.

Got ya!
No leaks so far. Water just reached overflow and all appears to be working correctly.
