Updated video on my mandarin with weird growth for info, I'll get more pics tomorrow in day/white lights.
today bubble looks very prominent and whiter on the tip like it's really bulging, (recently read a post about a fish that had abscess and died following day with pictures after death included so thought I would update)

My mandarin is still eating and no changes in behaviour, little worried this may burst but unfortunately not much I can do, if I remember correctly first growth was not as prominent but possibly due to more forgiving part of body as it was lower and on opposite side of body, I'll post more pictures tomorrow, thanks

I know that people try to drain bacterial abscesses, but there is a risk with that unless you put the fish into an antibiotic bath afterwards. Then - this could be an abscess from something else - like I mentioned nematodes perhaps.

The mandarin looks really pale now - is that an artifact of these new photos, or does it look pale in real life?

Melafix is just a herbal tonic, I would not expect it to have any benefit in this case.

I guess you might need to try and drain this - if you can get a tuberculin syringe, with a careful hand, you can drain off the material. In my case, I would then put the fluid under a microscope to see what's up, but I don't suppose you have that option.

Unfortunately surgery is not available for me, the photos are more of an adjustment to my camera to focus on the growth as close to the naked eye as I could get, mandarin is still normal behaviour, sorry but update was more for future knowledge then response as everyone has provided so much already but still unsure
What would you suggest as treatment if it does burst?

Today it looks alot better in appearance, the bump is alot less, it's like the skin had a small spot and the bump was body reacting as a way to battle it and push it out, abit like when you get a splinter , its now is a little bit of extra/baggy flesh... Like when a blister burst and small redness, so looking good I believe :)
I will keep an eye on wound but hopefully it will just repair itself in next few days

'update' one month after burst, so everything is as normal as can be :) mandarin skin has healed up nicely, still eating and still normal as can be, I think last video above was beginning of July these videos and pics from today :)

Last couple of water changes I have added a small amount of API stress coat + (it seems to make bubbles on surface with a larger dose) however this may of helped or not.

Mandarin looks healthy and normal if you seen it today :)
