WIFI control work with in wall tank ?

This may be a stupid question, but maybe one of you electronic wizards has a solution.
My 75g. will be in the living room wall, and I would like to be able to control the light, but since it's in the wall, I don't see how it would work, other than mounting the controller on the living room wall, so the wifi controller can be pointed at the eye in the computer ?
 
Wifi doesn't need direct line of site. The signals go through walls. If it's an infrared signal that would be different.
 
Yes, I was thinking it was like a TV controller, which is not wifi. Sorry, stupid question. BIG brain fart.
