I received a rock of zoas that has a sponge growing at the base around the polyps. Will this kill my zoas? Should I remove it? How do I remove it?

I would remove it most of the time the sponge will end up dying and cause your zoas to die from fungus growth.

try to take out all or as much as you can.. I just cleaned a rock I got last night and it's not always pretty... sponge die off might cause a problem esp if you have a smaller tank..
