Will filter floss in HOB Refugio affect copepod population?

I have an aquaclear hob converted into a Refugium. In the chamber before the chaeto, it is the water pump with constant flow, flowing through the grated plastic barrier separating the 2 chambers. I assume it is ok to run filter floss in this portion? I haven’t noticed any copepods in that area when it is empty of floss. if they get sucked back in the fuge they might get caught in it? What do you guys think? Worth it? Or too detrimental to copepd population? I’ve noticed it keeps the tank very clear and the floss is always dirty when replaced. so if it’s not bad I’d like to continue it. All opinions appreciated and welcomed.

IMO there are pods everywhere in the tank and some do get caught in the filtration, but nothing is 'detrimental' to a pod population, there will always be pods in your tank no matter what. If you like using it I say keep using it.
