Will my canopy keep jumpers in?

Hi, I'm thinking about getting a diamond goby in the future, but have heard they are pretty bad about jumping ship.

I have a canopy with the only opening being around the return, which I could block off.

But there are some 1/2 inch or so ledges all around the sides that rest on the the tank.

Do you think this would keep them in and if the did land on a ledge they would flop back in?

Or should I go with some type if netting if I decide to add any jumpers?

Thanks!

Got cha, I like that. Wouldnt mind mesh up the sides like you did.... just would rather it not cover the whole top cause it would always be in the way.

Thanks

Totally. That was my thoughts. Mine is totally out of the way but keeps in the carpet surfers. I designed some 3d print clips that mounted up the plastic mesh you get from the craft store really nice too. If you want the STL, PM me and i will share.

Awesome, thanks, but I dont have a 3d printer.

Figure some staples will work since mine is wood. If not I'm sure I can get creative with some zipties.

Ya I would definitely go with the mesh. With the correct jump angle a fish could definitely knock itself out by hitting the top and land on the edge.

I had a coris wrasse that would occasionally get bit during feeding and he would rocket up and hit the light fixture totally knocking himself out. Would always float back down to the bottom belly up, totally motionless for a few minutes until a hermit crab or shrimp crawled over and touched him. Thought it was dead for sure the first time it happened.
