Ok I made up 5 gallons of saltwater to do a water change on a nano. I was cleaning some pumps and heater in a water/vinegar mix. About 50/50 I would say. I forgot and took the heater out of the mix and dropped it into my 5g water change bucket.

Think this will taint the water?

i dont think so. people mix in vinegar along with vodka for carbon dosing. shouldnt do any harm at all

you should be fine Rev- as Nikesb said, vinegar is used to dose tanks, and typically in a 4/1 ratio of vodka- so the small amount that would be present on the heater shouldn't pose any form of risk IMO.

no, ive used vinegar to bring down my ph when i messed up and let my kalkwasser reactor overflow, dumped a quart right in to the sump (ph was over 10) i dont think that the little bit on your heater will hurt anything, just check the ph to make sure the ph of your change water isnt too low

You'd be shocked at how much residual vinegar and bleach I let get into my tanks.

Sweet! Well sour but thanks! HA!
