Got a little more done on the stand. Finished putting the plywood on and made the doors.

Filled all the screw holes and put on the trim. Just need to hang the doors and sand it down. Next weekend paint!

Made some progress yesterday. Just need to finish the trim on the doors, cut the holes for the plumbing and paint. Should be ready for water in a month.

Good luck with your tank.

I have to say that marineland tank sucks.
My new 93g tank has bubbles on every edge when I fill it with water and the bubbles disappear when tank has no water.

Your the second person that said the marineland tanks have bubbles in the silicone.

I haven't water tested mine yet. I'll be real disappointed if it does the same thing.

Got some work done this weekend!
Finished the hood and got a coat of primer on it.
Things seem to be moving along now.
Hope to have it all together before Thanksgiving.

And we have light!
Anyone have any tips on hiding all these wires?
This is just the beginning. I'm going to have a ton of wires.
Still need to mount the T5s for the dawn and dusk effect.

I would run it to the wall and use some of the wire casing that you attach to the wall. You can then paint the casing the same color as the wall to help hide it. This build is sweet. I have the same 30g but its from Deep Blue. I am going to check its seams for the bubbles. I did not know to do that until I read your thread. Thanks and good luck!

Thanks for the tip on the wiring. My 93 is from marineland, that's the one in question. Keeping my fingers crossed on the water test. My 30 is from deep blue. They use black silicone so it may be hard to see any bubbles. Anyway the 30 seems solid it is only rimless so I'm less worried about a failure.

Looking good. I got my tank replaced. No way can I sleep knowing the seams are jacked up and the possibility of a flood that could have been prevented. The new one is a million times better done, on the seams, though their tank maker should be more careful with the silicone. Got silicone fingerprints everywhere.

Thanks vanz! This thing is taking forever to build. Glad you got your tank replaced. I have had nightmares about my tank failing the past few weeks. My 93 has a ton of silicone on the seems and fingerprints everywhere also. Maybe it will be one of the good ones.

Very nice build..
Honestly before you go farther water test it..
MY 93 gallon got filled with water this weekend and its seam look exactly like ifarmer above with tiny bubbles..
I am screwed though since mine is drilled which voids warranty.

Thanks! I'm water testing tomorrow since I finally have time to take a day off. I can work on this build all day without my wife giving me a list of things to do LOL!
I will post my results soon after.

Water testing the tank today. Had a few small bubbles in the silicone. They are only in the top 6 inches of the seems and halfway across. The same in all four corners.

Did you guys have any micro bubbles in your replacement tanks?

I'm also running the mp40s at full power for a bit to see if the bubbles get any worse.

Wow, you had a great looking hex build!

I hope the bubbles aren't anything to worry about. I'm about 85% ready to buy the same cube and I'm a bit nervous now!

Yea that is exactly how mine is on two sides...
It has me so angry I am ready to scrap my whole tank build...

Sorry for your losses, but glad to see you're back at it again! We can tell you took great care of your coral, and looks like it will be even better this time.
What are your plans for the livestock? Are you going to do a mixed reef again? More fish?
