I transitioned into saltwater from a freshwater tank about 18 months ago; I currently have a 48 gallon bow front with a canister filter (yeah, I know, not the best option... but the tank is doing amazingly well), but that just isn't quite big enough for me anymore. I got an amazing deal on a 135 gallon tank from a woman selling off her ex husband's fish supplies. The tank is, of course, filthy - and the filtration needs some work - but I'm very excited about the upgrade. I've been researching and reading to get ideas on the best way to go about this. I also have to build a stand because hers was built in. So, that's the basics - I'm here for advice, research, ideas, etc.

is the tank drilled for a sump? if not, I suggest that be the first thing you get done. then run a sump with proper filtration.
