Fish are way underrated for a reef tank, so here are my suggestions.

A pair of Yellow Assessors. They swim upside down so they make a great statement piece fish. I have a blue assessor and love it.

If you want something larger and don't have a blenny, an ember blenny.

If you are looking for sand dwelling fish, yasha goby pair with a Randall pistol shrimp.

If you are looking for top/mid dwelling fish, then a Starcki Damsel. They are a more peaceful damsel and get larger like a dwarf angelfish.

If you want to take a tiny risk, you could try a mimic filefish. They get to 4" and mimic saddle puffers.

If you are looking for a larger showfish, maybe a rabbitfish. Not sure, but I think one is spot for faces stay smaller for a 65.

Oh interesting. I can't decide, I either want a marine betta or a CB. Last time I had a CB it did so well but then found a corner wouldn't eat for two weeks and died. Jay said it was edema but I'm not so sure.

I've always thought of getting one. But I think the reccomended tank size is cruelty. Huge fish for small tank... What size is your tank?

He’s in a 47g at the moment but the betta is only 3 inches. I’ll be upgrading tanks later this year.

My showfish will be the white tail bristletooth and whatever this wow fish will be. I feel like I will be overstocking if I add a clown, a tang and something else in. Especially if I do a dwarf angel. I've always liked damsels and chromis but I've seen them as a boring fish that don't do much, pretty though accecors are nice but they are very expensivem I really like how ember blennys look. Kept one? Active?

I thought marine bettas were super cool for a long time until I watched a few YouTube videos of them eating skunk cleaner shrimp when they get larger. They can also prey on small fish. They are more like a grouper in how they act.

I haven't. I have a starry Blenny that is huge right now. Someday I'll try an ember blenny. I've seen assessors for around $99 lately. My LFS in San Diego has two at that price, I was just there earlier today watching it eat upside down.

I have a marineland 65 gallon that is 4 ft long. Current stocking is a marble wrasse, one clownfish and one Royal gramma. I want to add one more clownfish a white tail bristle tooth and some sort of a wow fish. What do you guys recommend?
curious wormfish !!!
redspot or stoplight cardinals (can’t remember the name)
or if you want a “wow i don’t like you” fish you could go for a citron goby or engineer goby
pick your poison, one sits on the glass and tries to sit on other fish, the other reorganizes every sand particle and moves rocks

75 gallons. With 4 chromis, 3 Oc. Clowns, 3 black and white clowns, lawmower blenny, 2 wrasses, 1 royal gramma, bi-colored angel, 1 red cardinal, 1 green mandarin, 2 flame clowns. And 1 file fish on the way. I need a bigger tank dangit.

Do they ever just not grow to 8?
They might get to 8 inches in the wild. Biggest i've ever heard of in captivity was like 6". More typically 4-5", and about half of that length is fins. They don't need a big tank, they barely ever move. Like seriously, they look cool but do absolutely nothing

They're not like groupers at all. I've kept both. Groupers are MUCH more aggressive feeders than comets/ marine bettas. Anything that fits in a groupers' mouth is a gonner. Comets also have a large mouth but are usually content with eating 2-3 pieces of mysis or 2-3 pellets in a day, they eat super slowly and tend to stare at food for a while before actually eating it. Plus they never move.

They are awesome. All get along very well and play nice. I really love the colors of the Bicolored angel. She's beautiful. Actually all my fish are beautiful. ❤️

So what fish are you leaning towards?
I don't know sigh. I like ember blennies cus of the tiger look, but marine Bettas are such a stunner and bicolor angel looks so nice. I can't decide.
