Thank you. I just want a smallish female I do have a question. Don't females stay smaller then males? If you're looking to get a juvenile mandarin you won't be able to know if it's a male or female until it matures and it then won't be small most likely. All juveniles tend to look like females because of the small erect dorsal.
Good luck tho I hope you find your mandarin!
From my experience and what I've read in the past they generally will both grow to about 3". I have yet to have a pair but with lots of other fish I know that females are actually the bigger of the two in the pair. Not 100% sure tho on mandarins.Thank you. Thank you so much for the help!! I'll try to find one one around 2ish inches. I did find a place online that was selling females but they were fully grown and they were $60!!!!! Not including shipping!!!!! I'm sorry, but I am not paying $100 for a mandarin. They also sell pairs but I am a little worried about feeding one so I don't think 2 would be the best :p maybe in the future when I have a bigger tank.Yea I'd look for any female but if you want a smaller one just make sure it's mature and is in fact a female [emoji106]
