Hey all - could use some advice regarding Xp Aqua's Sumpless ATO. I have a 75 gallon rimmed tank with a HOB filter. The issue is the ATO is keeping the water level way too low, so there’s constant splashing and salt creep. I can’t figure out how to raise the Aquariums water level to the appropriate level. The ATO’s filter box is already as high as it can go on the tank wall. I feel like I’m missing an install step, but nothing in the instructions indicate how to handle it and there’s nothing clear online that I’ve found so far.

If it's high as you can place it, you can try raising the bottom of the weir by blocking the bottom of the slots. I would use something that's removable at first as you're going to want to see if the ATO still functions correctly (it should) and if there's excess flow noise coming from the box (fixable with foam/filter floss but again, check ATO operation). If that works then make it permanent with silicone or gluing (reef safe) a piece of acrylic.

Maybe you have some window film or cling wrap you can test with.

Thanks for the help. I don’t know that this will work.

The water is going into the ATO at the very tippy top of the weir slots. So adding something to block the bottom of the weir slots won’t have any impact.

I think the water is supposed to go down into the box, I.e. the box water level should be lower than the aquarium water level by 1-2 inches. I can’t get that to work though. The water in the box is the exact same level as that water in the aquarium, if that helps add context. I will attach a few photos.
