Hello all! I am trying to figure out a solution to my current lighting set up. I have a 300 gal DD with two center braces that cause some shadowing. I have 3x24” ReefBreeders running front to back in each of the three sections on the tank. (Left, middle, right.) I also have two light bars at each end, two in the front running the length of the tank and one in the back. I recently put OR3’s on the lights but I am still visibly and with a par meter gaps in the par coverage over the top of my tank. Pretty much a drop off of par outside of the middle hotspot of the lights. I am thinking of filling the two gaps, (one between the left light and middle light, and another between the middle light and right light) with either two A500x’s or 2 of the XR-30 Pros. I am hoping this will help blanket the top of the tank with even par. The tank is 6’x3’x3’ I believe. I have a hood on the tank and have raised my ReefBreeders as high as I can get them. They are about 13-15” off the top of the water. Thoughts of whether the XR-30 or the A500x would be the more suitable light? (Pictures don’t show my recent OR3 light bar add ons.)

The xr30 g5 has probably the flattes par spread of any led other than something like a reef brite fixture.

Do you think the center braces will get too hot if I have a light source directly over them? It’s the only place I can put them without redoing my entire light setup.

Hmm that I am not sure. I wouldn't think so?

I also wanted to add that the kessil is also not a bad choice. It will add more shimmer if you like wide caustic lines. Brs did a video on both of these if you haven't seen it. Mounting height is something that you would need to decide as that will change the numbers.

There are also other options like long led bars.
