I’m building out my Waterbox 20 Cube right now. The desire is to have a mixed reef sps dominate system. Would the XR15 Pro Gen 5 be overkill?

You would probably have to turn it down. Rent a par meter. But if you have thought of tank upgrade in future to would be re useable

itd be fine. as said youd probably need to turn it down. I have an XR15 over my 32G biocube and it grows everything no problem.

One more for the yes column.
As already mentioned, turn it down, see if you can rent/borrow a par meter, and have a light that is capable of lighting a larger tank.

I run AB+ at 75% over my waterbox 20. Haven't done a PAR check yet but everything is open and happy! SPS LPS and softies
