Do yellowtail damsels kill clams? I just moved my maxima clam higher up so it could get more light. I came downstairs and it was closed up. One of the damsels was swimming around it and while I watched it took good hard peck at what little mantel was showing and the clam shut even more. It looks like the clam wants to open but the damsel won't leave him alone. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What can I do?

You could never trust a damsel. Even if you have a tank with just two, give it some time and you will end up with only one left.

Damsels are the devil! Got rid of mine. Started with 3 and ended up with 1. He turned crazy! Trapped him and traded him back to my fish store. Never again!
